Sound is the new trend?

It's been awhile since I blog about audio stuff. But as days gone by, I saw there is a trend of people carrying a headphone on the go. It makes me think is there an on going trend for hipster? Because it looks cool?

For sure, I don't think most of them value the music quality. Because they most of them uses Beats By Dr. Dre. It looked decent and cool no doubt about that. But the sound quality doesn't much justified it's price. And the price is sky high!!

Today I went to Sennheiser shop in KL. Promoted what I'm selling and end up the person in charge is not in *Awhhh* then I had a little chat with the sales person. He told me there is an research done by someone, it shows other digital product's price had been becoming cheaper and cheaper but not for audio stuff. People used to pay very low price for a mid range headphone, but now RM200-500 are called cheap/affordable mid range headphone.

Perhaps it all comes down to the type of life people are facing now. Stressful lifestyle might need something to ease down the tense in their daily life. Music does help to relax down, maybe that why people earning big bucks willing to pay for all these equipment.

For me, yes I started to look/feel my music few years back. Because of Beats By Dr Dre! Now I'm still in dilemma on which headphone should I buy. I AM living in a stressful life though.

Another day outside of my comfort zone.

I wish to share here not to the public but to let my future self to have a look back at what have I done.

Today is just like ordinary day for anyone, *MONDAY BLUE*. But not quite for a person that struggling for his daily job. Not daring to meet up with people, dealing with rejection, Alone, depression you name it. But still a job is a job, even when I did not do anything I still need to show my boss my pretty face.

Today I found out something that is going to give me a huge impact on my depression, not getting better but worst from it. Previous week, out of a sudden the head of the department asked me to prepare for a lecture/discussion on what have I done for the whole week. I was like okay, at least my problem can be discuss with them, maybe I should let them know I'm struggling mentally. Fast forward to today, it actually turn out not they wanted to help me deal with problems but to monitor my movement.

I was placed to sit next to the head of department on my 2nd day of work. Not a good place if you asked me. And I do not know what can I do the whole day, should I just go door to door asking people? but where should I go? To the place I familiar with? That is just like 3 places I'm familiar with and poof! I ran out of ideas. Cold calling? Seriously I hate doing that, I'm afraid of calling people by the phone. The chill run through my spine.

I just hope that I got the chance to tell them, this is really not what I am good at. Nope! not at all! In fact those are what I least good at. God everyday I'm in depression I felt like crying everyday. I felt like a nobody in the office, I have no one to talk to. Worst of all, even my dear say I'm always a sour face. Bring back my smile this instance!!

Stepping out of my comfort zone

I had been jobless for almost 4 months. It lead me into desperation to get into any job. I doesn't care whether I am suitable or not for the job I just want something that makes me busy during weekday and pay me a decent salary at month end. Seems simple until I got myself into a job I had never ever dreamt of being in it. Working in a bank doing sales.

A little background of why I didn't dream of doing these. Firstly I never like to be in banking industry. Yes, many people had told me how good the salary are and the benefit they give are top notch. Indeed those words are really true, their client base are so huge that everyone in the nation need to have their service. But then again, I always want to have my own business, and opening a Bank is not an easy thing to do. I prefer to make my life simple and less involvement in playing with other's saving.

Second is the sales line. To everyone that knows me well, I do not speak often, I am never a conversation starter and I doesn't like to force people into doing something. You might say that doing sales doesn't force people into doing something, but sales person does force people to listen to you when you promoting stuff that they already have/ doesn't need.

Seriously, doing something that you are not good at, not your nature is stressful. I felt out of place in my workplace. In the bank you are not provided with your own PC, and no internet connection at all. In all my life time *23 years of it* I had been so used to looking and finding information through the internet. The best part is! My senior expect me to go home and search for contacts for me to have cold call. What if I do not have any internet access in my home?!

I do not enjoy stepping out from my comfort zone. Most of the time when I'm doing door to door sales, I will end up sitting somewhere alone, thinking Oh God! What have I done to my life, why do I want to challenge and I end up in teary eye. Seriously I can't take this anymore, I am not progressing. For once in my life, I felt that I am totally not up to the job. I want to quit!

This actually prove my theory wrong. I always believe that people are actually good at everything they did if they try. It doesn't seems like the case with me. All the time I think that I'm more suitable for a consultant job and until know I still think that I am one. Back office most of the time travel here and there occasionally, telling people what should they do instead of telling them buy my product :)

Oh well... I just have to wait for the one chance that they going to give me to join a business consultation job :( back to my drawing board!

WWDC 2012

The Apple's conference on new thing coming out from Apple. To tell the truth I am excited to see what Apple inc going to announce this year that became an eye opener for all. Since the death of the great Mr. Jobs, Apple conference had always been dull, boring with their new CEO Tim Cook. Announcing the new iPad with all new but same old look and not even a wow is depressing.

But anyhow this time, I felt that they actually did a pretty fine job. Something make me wanna buy their product, some just pure "meh". Below is the round up of what's new in WWDC 2012.

Macbook Pro

Apart from the hardware update from the older Macbook Air and Macbook Pro and killing off the 17 inch model, Apple had actually build a new generation MacBook Pro. This time finally Apple managed to stuff in their trademark Retina Display on this 15" baby. It is slimmer and lighter than the previous 13" model! With 2 integrated USB 3.0 and 2.0 port, 2 Thunderbolt port and also a HDMI cable port. Blazing high speed ram and this time around flash storage for a Macbook Pro is greatly a yum yum product if you asked me. And best of all, it started shipping today! However the price is just wooping high. Oh well, better stick back to my older gen Macbook Pro.

Mac OS X

Mac OS X the ninth big cat of the family. Seriously Apple one year one new OS?! You got to be kidding me. By looking at this Mountain Lion seriously makes me think of Agent K in MIB, you know the poker face? Alright jokes aside. Basically I think that what Apple is trying to do is to bring what the user love about the iOS and put it inside the Mac OS. They had been doing this since the previous Lion. Now what are the things they brought in it.

1. Better integration of iCloud - hences better syncing feature between your other iOS with Mac.
2. iMessage - Now you can chat thru your MacBook instead of the your other iOS devices.
3. Notification Center - Drag it and you can view all your notification like mail, message etc.
4. Power Nap!? - Your Mac will still sync in your mail, updates etc when you put your mac into sleep.
5. Dictation - Speech to Text *about time =.=*
6. Sharing - now you can share your photo, website with the integrated twitter button!
7. New Safari - More Gesture and also iCloud integrated, more pretty overall.
8. Game Center - Game Center comes to Mac OS!
9. Air Play - Nuff said

Out of all these new feature, there are more to come but yet to reveil to the public. Oh well this new OS will be available on July at the Mac AppStore and pricing at only USD 19.99.

iOS 6

One of the most anticipating upgrade of all time. And one of the most common mobile OS that every time you throw a stone out, you will hit a person using iOS. This is Apple's 6th version of the iOS, main rival Android OS. The new feature/ updates are as follows.

1. New Map from Apple! - Apple is trying to kick out Google in their daily life now. Providing turn to turn navigation and 3D view of Map. Hopefully this Map will be usable in Malaysia. Else is just plain boring.

2. Siri - Now siri knows more about sports, player cards, opening an app. It is now a more integration between the Apps and the OS. oh ya! Siri will be available on the new iPad as well.

3. Passbook - pretty neat app I think, having all the QR code when you purchase movie ticket, boarding pass, voucher in one place. And nice card scrapping animation :)

4. Facetime - now support 3G instead of only wifi!

5. Facebook - instead of just tweeting, now iOS integrates Facebook on it. meh

6. Phonecall - Instead of just declining a phone call, you can now fire back a message and even set an reminder to call back whoever is calling you at that time.

Apple usually makes me want to get their products, but they failed in the previous 2 conference selling out the new iPad and also the iPhone 4s. This one had made me want to give them my money. Not bad I would say. But still far from the Steve Job era.

Spent more for a better future?

To tell the truth. I'm quite a stingy side of people. Every penny and cents that I use must count. Let it be food or leisure. I want to get the most out of what I had paid. Well folks, that's life.

Today I realize that many of us are also spending a lot on money on education getting themselves or their kids to the best university in the world, paying hundred of thousand of tuition fees, living expenses etc. When people do this firstly they will thought of the parents are filthy rich, most likely the case I would say. Secondly, the education standard are higher? I think this is somewhat a subjective question, I believe this depends on the determination of the student. And lastly the reason that only now I find useful is the network.

Seriously I'm regretting the time I spent after my secondary school. The college era. I often think back and felt depress, what on earth am I doing back then? Getting merely pass in examination is no OK. My resume doesn't looks great, in fact I failed to get interviews. I felt that my result are pathetic.

So now my plan within 5 years. Stick on with the same job for 2 to 3 years. Get recognition or capital, after that go for a MBA. Going to big University, meeting big name, big shot , whatever else. Then just maybe, maybe I can get called to enter into business consultancy line* Which I desire the most*. Let it be money going out as I know the network I can get is what we can call *Money can't buy*.

All the best Danny Boy!

Job oh Job!

This is somehow a personal post. I had not been working since I resign from my previous Company 2 months ago.  Being jobless isn't something good and yet is not that bad as well. The reason I left my previous Company is I had no intention being in the line *The more I work the more I felt the job is really insignificant to the Company* and I want to try something else.

Saying wanting to try something else, I mean to accept a bigger challenge. I do not want to stay in the office 9 to 5, doing paperworks. I want to be a influential character, I want to make my name shine. I want to...... well you get the point.

But it turned out most of the case, I'm being limited by my own self. Something is pulling me back, I failed to get interviews. I have that mini resistance to drive, and travel to far far places. The jam, the cost. But why o why am I still so timid. I missed the F*ck This Sh*t courage when I give my senior the resignation letter. But now I a home boy, afraid of this and that. Thinking to myself everyday when will I eventually step out from my comfort zone? When will I start to grow up like a man, a trustworthy man.

Please O God, Show me the way, show me a job that I have interested on my first glance, let me not to think about other things else but only to serve you well.

Stop the jobless streak lo Danny Boy!

Greed

Ever wonder why are there so many victims fallen for fraud investment plans? We heard that everywhere putting investment in a Company, and you will get double or sometime triple your initial investment back in 5 to 10 years. Throughout where I live, there had been this type of scam going around. But still why are there victims of such common scam?

One day me and my friend went for a cup of tea, and he told me one thing. Try to cheat money from a poor person makes you a bully, Try to cheat money from a rich person makes you a hero *Just like robin hood?* . Kind to think of it, is rather difficult to cheat money from a rich person. And many if not all the investment fraud and scam's victims are the poor/ normal type categories.

Well, I guess it all comes to greed. The greed of one heart overtakes the ability for a person to think correctly/ rationally. Does that mean that rich people doesn't want to get richer? Of course not. Is actually rich people will not rush into things. They do want to get richer, but as you got richer the more stingy you might be. They will investigate think rationally whether this is the real deal or not, etc.

So when someone offer you a investment plan do take a step behind, think about it. The process behind it, is the return realistic. Are there previously the same tactics being used? *Normally they just ran out of ideas* etc.

This also tell use something else, not to rush into things. Is better safe than sorry peeps.
